About me
Since my early teens I had suffered with terrible acne, and after trying a variety of topical skin products and face treatments, I decided it was time to see my doctor. Low and behold, at aged 15 I was advised to start taking the pill and long-term antibiotics. I honestly thought there was no other option at this point; and the combination of gut damaging long-term antibiotics and hormone disrupting birth control pill seemed to fix the spots on my face.
A few years on, I finished school, realised I wanted to drop-out of university, went through a breakup and entered the working world… all within 12 months.
My acne flared up, I lost my period, and became a stressed and depressed girlie.
After some time, I released I could no longer go on like this. I needed to change, and it was time to feel better.
This is where my love for nutrition all began.
I started ‘dipping my toes’ (as some would say) into the field of holistic and naturopathic nutrition. I ditched the medication I was on for my skin, ruled out health conditions such as PCOS and thyroid issues, and decided to work on myself by myself. I read, researched, and watched a lot of information and made some drastic decisions, e.g., juicing celery every day, cutting out dairy and sugar completely, and even ate chicken for breakfast sometimes! With this, I noticed my skin and mood improving, and I really started getting my spark back.
I still had a long way to go with my own health, and I felt that the internet was a little contradicting, so I decided to enrol at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2020 so I could learn from the real professionals.
3 years on, I have learnt so much. I have managed to alleviate my symptoms and become the best version of myself. Now I am so inspired to help others! Particularly as at the age of 18, I could have benefited so much by having a nutritional therapist to help me along the way, instead of trying to do it all myself.
So, here I am, inspired by my own journey, wanting to help you become the better version of YOU.
